Project Description
The Australian Sports Museum project called for a complete re-design of the existing National Sports Museum, set in the Northern Stand of the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The focus was to increase both physical and digital interactive experiences while showcasing objects from many of Australia’s most iconic sporting moments. The exhibition became a vehicle for entirely new thematic and narrative-led curatorial methodology which blended actual, theatrical and virtual interpretive techniques throughout the museum. Significant built interventions included a bespoke elliptical entry stair and glazed lift to better align the visitor experience with universal design principles. As principal design consultant, Broadcast led an extensive creative and technical team including engineers, graphic and lighting designers, directors and producers.
